Joanne Alderson Phillips is a multi-award-winning garden and landscape designer based in Oxfordshire, on the edge of the Cotswolds. With a background in textile design from Loughborough College of Art and a subsequent degree in horticulture and garden design from Warwickshire College, Joanne has spent over a decade honing her skills in the industry. Her passion for gardens and design has led her to found her own practice, Joanne Alderson Design.

At Joanne Alderson Design, we pride ourselves on creating bespoke garden designs that are tailored to our clients' unique tastes, plots, and budgets. We understand that every client is different, and every garden is a reflection of that individuality. Our approach is collaborative, with input from both sides to ensure that the final design meets the client's needs.

Our Design Process

Our design process begins with a brief from the client, which we use to assess the plot and discuss possibilities and budget. We then provide a written outline of design costs, based on the client's requirements, which are fixed providing the brief remains the same. We require a deposit of 30% as a gesture of commitment, along with a completed acceptance form and any relevant information. Once the acceptance form and deposit are received, we endeavour to start work as soon as possible.

What sets us apart is our commitment to personal service. We don't have a studio full of designers or an admin team; it's just us. We believe that a personal touch is essential in creating a garden that truly reflects the client's personality. We take the time to listen to what our clients want and need, and we work closely with them to ensure that their garden is a true reflection of their style.
